Wednesday 12th Aug🩷 Why the Pink Bloom Party means so much to me 🩷
This fundraiser is incredibly personal for me.
My beautiful mum was only 40 years old when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. At an age when you think you have your whole life ahead of you, cancer suddenly became part of our family’s story.
Mum fought it, and for many years we were incredibly lucky to still have her with us. But breast cancer came back, and today our family is facing the heartbreaking reality of metastatic breast cancer, which has spread to other parts of her body.
Watching someone you love go through cancer changes you. You see the appointments, treatments, exhaustion, fear and uncertainty — but you also see an unbelievable amount of strength.
That’s why I’m hosting a Pink Bloom Party.
For me, this isn’t simply about wearing pink, having a great day and raising some money. It’s about Mum. 🩷
It’s also for every woman and every family who has heard the words “you have breast cancer”, and for the daughters, sons, husbands, partners, grandchildren and friends who walk beside them.
Research gave us precious years with Mum. And research is what will give other families more time with the people they love.
So I’m going to make this Pink Bloom Party something special — full of love, laughter, community and, knowing me, probably a little bit of chaos too. 😂🩷
